1. Follow ASQA Regulations
If you are an Australian RTO, you may already be or at least should be familiar with ASQA Guidelines around RTO marketing. If you are just starting out with marketing your training business, it’s a good idea to get yourself familiar with these guidelines.
2. Conduct Market Research
Proper market research is essential for any campaign or strategy, if you don’t know who you are promoting to and what are they’re after, you don’t know what channels to use to reach them. As a best practice, it always makes sense to develop customer personas and map out a customer journey to make your ad campaign effective.
3. Make your offer irresistible
If your offer is the same as everyone else, your promotion, no matter how creative it may be, will not result in huge sales outcomes. At the first opportunity, a prospect will abandon the customer journey and go to a competitor. Think about how your business is different from others and what you can provide your customers that no one else can.
4. Always Measure
It doesn’t matter if it’s outdoor or digital, always measure your results. If you’re not measuring your results you might as well just pile up all your advertising budget and light it on fire. What’s the point of having an ad<> campaign that won’t serve its purpose.
5. Optimise in real time
It’s harder to do with traditional media, but one should always optimise their promotional campaigns to avoid over spending. The metrics you’re collecting aren’t just to show the performance of your campaign to your superiors but to use that data to find a way to improve your campaign.
